Aegina Fistiki Festival
Last Saturday the photography Exhibition for 2013 Fistiki Festival in Aegina Island in Folklore Museum had been completed. My goal was to capture the shapes that the light on the objects related to the harvest. Somewhere between stills and portrait.
Giorgos Manikas
George Manikas is one of the most decorated Greek male models. He has participated in manycampaigns and fashion shows. He decided to produce his own yogurt ice cream recipe for those who love ice cream, yogurt and fitness. The photoshoot for Proto Thema Newspaper took place in a neoclassical house build in 1800 on a coast of Aegina Island and published on 22 June 2013.
Babis Bizas
Babis Bizas had been awarded with Guinness Record as "The most Traveled man of the world"! After he came back from his recent trip at South Pole Babis Bizas gives an interview about this unique experience. What made Babis Bizas to be so lucky that he had travel to all the countries of the wold (194 countries)?
"The journey to the South Pole was not the most exciting experience of my life, but had to be done. As others go to St Gerasimos to fulfill a vow, so I felt it my duty, as a Greek, to raise there the greek flag. " If I heard this phrase from any other man, I would have thought that he is full.” Writes the journalist of Kathimerini Semina Sarantopoulou about The most Traveled man of the world and she continues “But in front of me I have, according to the Guinness Book, "most traveled man of the world", the great explorer who has walked in 195 countries of the world, the first Greek who managed to press on both poles of the Earth - visited North pole in 1995 and the South pole a few days ago.”
The photoshoot of Babis Bizas took place at his home in Athens. All the set up I have used for the styling the shot are the gadgets he used in his trip at South Pole. Even during the shooting it was impressive that he couldn’t stop talking about his trips and his experiences and that was one of the points that we came closer. The interesting textures and the colors of his outfit was perfect for this shot and his attitude as well. Thank you Babis
Demetrios Potamianos
New York, the city of challenge and opportunities, the city of expression and fashion. The New York City Celebrity hair dresser Demetris Potamianou is a combination of all the above. Many Hollywood celebrities choosing his DS Studio and one of his famous clients is Bush Family. Recently and on the occasion of his coming in his native, Greece and “his island” Aegina, gave an interview to Proto Thema and the journalist Maria Lemonia … The shooting for his interview took place in the port of Aegina just after New Year day cause the time was pressing us.
It is always a great pleasure working with people you know and especially in this particular work that is purely creative. But its not only the result, same creative and enjoyfull all the process should be. In the creative process I have used more the natural light of Aegina on the evening golden hour. Greek World Champions
Lefteris Petrounias, Vasiliki Millousi and Lefteris Kosmidis are Greek World Champions in Gymnastics. Recently they won Golden medals in competitions in France and Germany. I was very happy and proud when the staff of Proto Thema News call me and hire me to photoshoot the three Athletes for their interview in People magazine. The photoshoot took place in Agios Kosmas Training center. Here are the two photos that have been chosen by the Newspaper and published on 07/04/13
Soul Project - Ατομική έκθεση φωτογραφίας Δημήτρη Βλάικου
Ένα πρωτοποριακό project του φωτογράφου Δημήτρη Βλάικου που ως σκοπό έχει την αποτύπωση καθημερινών χαρακτήρων που συνθέτουν την ψυχή της πόλης της Αίγινας ως λαογραφικά στοιχεία της περιοχής. Για τις ανάγκες αυτού του project στήθηκε ένα υπαίθριο φωτογραφικό studio στο κέντρο της αγοράς της Αίγινας, οπού 120 χαρακτήρες φωτογραφήθηκαν σε τρεις ημέρες. Τα 120 πορτραίτα θα εκτεθούν στο Λαογραφικό μουσείο Αίγινας στις 23-‐09-‐11 και η έκθεση θα διαρκέσει μέχρι τις 30-09-11. Ντόπιοι και επισκέπτες θα έχουν την ευκαιρία να δουν από μια άλλη οπτική τους καθημερινούς ανθρώπους γύρω τους, τόσο ως μορφές αλλά και ως ψυχές. Τις ψυχές της πόλης.
Soul Project Eίναι ο τίτλος της έκθεσης φωτογραφίας του Δημήτρη Βλάικου που θα φιλοξενηθεί στο Λαογραφικό Μουσείο Αίγινας 23 – 30 Σεπτεμβρίου.
Στα 29 του χρόνια και μετά από δεκαετή αναζήτηση στην τέχνη της φωτογραφίας, ο καλλιτέχνης έρχεται να καταθέσει στην πρώτη αυτή ατομική του έκθεση, την προσωπική οπτική πάνω στον κοινό μας τόπο την Αίγινα. Φιλοδοξία του να αποδείξει πως ο φακός μπορεί να αποτυπώνει την εσωτερικότητα, επικεντρωμένος στην ουσία και τη ψυχική διάσταση προσώπων και πραγμάτων, πέρα από τις φόρμες.
Οι Ψυχές της Πόλης βρίσκονται για τον Δημήτρη Βλάικο παντού, σε ότι τυχαίο και καθημερινό, σε κάθε φιγούρα και αντικείμενο. Έφτασε ως εκεί από την έμμονη παρατήρηση αυθεντικών μορφών και χαρακτήρων που όσο πάει και λιγοστεύουν. Φυσιογνωμίες αναλλοίωτες στο χρόνο σε φόρμες γεμάτες ελληνικότητα, που αν τις απομονώσεις μπορούν να σε ταξιδέψουν στο χρόνο.
