Light Cube Exhibition

Photographic light is coming to Aegina this summer with the island’s first major outdoor photography exhibition, “AEGINA LIGHT CUBE,” held under the auspices of the Municipality of Aegina.

This pioneering photography exhibition brings together the work of leading Greek photographers whose work spans Greece and international destinations, including fashion and lifestyle editorials. The exhibition will take place from 18 July to 2 August 2009 at the port of Aegina.

Works by Takis Diamantopoulos, Mara Desypri, Dimitris Skoulos, Katerina Tsatsani, Kostas Avgoulis, Giannis Bournia, Pantelis Zervos, Vangelis Palamaris, Giorgos Malekakis, Salvatore Vinci, and Giorgos Mavropoulos will be presented across 11 monumental illuminated cubes, each standing three meters high and installed along the island’s picturesque waterfront.

Each photographer will present four works on an individual cube, all exploring the theme of “Portrait.” The large-scale illuminated installations transform the harbour into an open-air gallery, bringing contemporary photographic art into direct dialogue with the landscape and atmosphere of Aegina.
